Basics of Machship​

At MTM Logistcs we use Machship as it is a cloud-based freight management software that consolidates all freight tasks across carriers. We use this software to create consignments and to print carrier compliant manifests and labels.

Important terminology
  • Consignment, are the goods or products sent by the consignor to the consignee, a contract is drawn up between the two parties in which one party pledges to deliver a certain amount of goods to the consignee.
  • Manifest, a summary of shipping details, including the number, size and weights of items being lodged for delivery.
  • Companies, a organisation you are creating the order on behalf of.
  • Receiver pays, a method of charging where the receiver of the delivery pays for the shipping.
  • Items, is the delivery label for the consignment.

The main page of Machship displays a breakdown of unmanifested consignments and has access to few important features.

  1. Is the create/Manage this opens a drop down that contains Unmanifested Consignments and View Manifests which are key to creating and manifesting orders.

  1. Is the Companies drop down, it contains all companies available to make an order through and has the "Stop impersonating" button.
